United has posted this season's first holiday sale featuring peak travel dates. The lowest prices are dispersed among many carriers, including AirTran, Continental, JetBlue, and, of course, United's sale fares.
Northwest is featuring sale fares between Minneapolis and Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Dallas, Jacksonville, and Milwaukee for travel through February. Besides one route beaten by Sun Country, these fares offer savings.
Virgin America's introductory sale offers nonstop flights between Ft. Lauderdale and a handful of western U.S. cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Seattle. AirTran, American, Continental, and others compete.
